This project consists in the computation of the n'th binary digits of PI. We use an original method developped by Bailey, Borwein, and Plouffe to be able to compute the n'th binary digits of PI without computing the previous ones.

  • (Sept 22 1997) End of the verification computation. The results are OK. See the public announce .
  • (Sept 9 1997) End of computation of the 10^12 th binary digits. The verification computation is launched.
  • (Aug 28 1997) The computation of the 10^12 th digits of PI is launched.
  • (5-11 Aug 1997) Test of the system for the 200 billionth digits of PI.
